Get Ready for Pollen & Smog Season

As we head into warmer weather, the pollen count, smog level and even the amount of scented personal care products increases. For those of you who have seasonal allergies and/or sensitivities to smog or scents this time can be uncomfortable if you are not prepared.

The number one step is to ensure you have a safe place you can come home to where you can breathe freely. My air purifiers in particular the IQAIR GC have been a godsend. They have enabled me to sleep soundly no matter what the weather or air quality is like outside. Waking up with your body refreshed can make all the difference in the day and can help prepare you for the exposure you unavoidably have to face. Consider getting an air purifier for your office or other places you spend a significant amount of time. A smaller super quiet unit like the BlueAir 205C may be a good choice for a work environment.

Our Vanicream Sunscreen is the only sunscreen I have found that does not have that sickly sweet chemical smell that most other sunscreens do. Be sure to stock up on it both for yourself and friends.

Consider bringing a lightweight Breathing Mask to help in situations where you cannot avoid exposure. Our I can breathe line of masks are lightweight enough to be easily folded and has a unique ear loop attachment to make putting on and removal of the mask quick and discrete. The activated carbon inserts can trap up to 95% of particles and odors/scents. They are great for traveling and temporary relief from airborne irritants at public events.

The last thing is to remember to take vitamin mineral supplements, the antioxidant Vitamins C and E, Zinc and a B complex vitamin supplement is what I would recommend at a minimum to boost your immune system. You can also see your doctor and ask to have an analysis done to see if you are deficient in certain vitamins or minerals. Alkaline green supplements can also strengthen your immune system.
